Imagine walking along the windswept shores of San Quintin Bay, discovering native plants tucked between rocky crevices, spotting colorful mollusks along the tide pools, or uncovering traces of ancient tools left behind by the region’s early inhabitants. This project brings that experience to life through three meticulously crafted field guides—botanical, archaeological, and rocky intertidal.
Each guide features hand-drawn ink illustrations, printed in subtle duotone, capturing the intricate beauty and unique character of the bay. These illustrations highlight the region’s most iconic species and artifacts, providing an intuitive and engaging way for visitors to identify and connect with the natural and cultural treasures around them.
Designed as more than just reference tools, these guides invite exploration, curiosity, and discovery, offering hikers and nature enthusiasts a hands-on connection to the landscape and its history. The project blends scientific accuracy with artistic storytelling, transforming information into an immersive visual journey through San Quintin Bay.
